I was fortunate enough to participate in two different field experiences throughout the duration of the Educational Leadership program offered at Oakland University. I had the privilege of working with Annette Lauria at Beer Middle School in the Warren Consolidated School District and Faye Bucci at Patton Elementary in Roseville Community Schools.
I documented all field experiences and was provided opportunities to work with community organizations such as DARE, PTO/Booster Club, as well as a truancy officer. I was able to sit in on teacher observations, school improvement meetings, audit preparations and PLC’s. Several of my decisions were typical of those made by my mentors. I was provided with a depth of insight as to how a school runs from some highly skilled educational leaders.
Over time my responsibilities increased and I was working directly with staff, students, parents, and school community leaders.
